Joyful Dance

The vase is inspired by Edgar Degas’ painting The Ballet Class (1881).

Edgar Degas is best known for his work that focuses on ballet. He spent long hours observing young ballet dancers’ practice sessions in ballet studios. Girls usually start to learn ballet from seven or eight years old and dream of someday becoming the prima ballerina. The dancers reveal their dreams and longings for a bright future through their bodies’ elegant movements. The porcelain vase represents a journey, starting with young dreams and heading towards a beautiful life in the future.
