The National Library of China (NLC) has in its possession the “Jie Zi Yuan Hua Zhuan” – a manual containing the essence of representative Chinese paintings which was published when Emperor Kangxi ruled the Qing Dynasty. It introduces the technique of Chinese landscape painting, paintings of plums, orchids, bamboos and chrysanthemum along with paintings of flowers, birds, insects and plants so detailed that it has become a treasured model valued by all art lovers.
The designer was inspired by the peony and butterfly from the “Jie Zi Yuan Hua Zhuan” which interprets the unique charm of Chinese painting through modern porcelain. Moreover, the butterflies fluttering through the flowers symbolize the beauty of nature.
